This highly exclusive black honey Arabica is sourced from a single, meticulously managed field within our Kerkeicoondah Estate — carefully nurtured and isolated for dedicated attention across every stage, from pulping to fermentation, drying, curing, and storage. Cultivated with precision and guided through the most labour-intensive of all honey processes, this rare microlot undergoes a 60-hour partially anaerobic whole-berry fermentation, followed by pulping completely without water to preserve its rich, sticky mucilage, then a slow, staged sun-drying that carries it to a precise 11% moisture. The result is a remarkably sweet and characterful Arabica, offering layers of dates, cocoa, and brown sugar — delivering a cup that is as unforgettable as it is rare. Produced in extremely limited quantities and crafted for those seeking a truly exceptional coffee experience.

Crafted to Perfection

Obsidian Reserve is shaped through a controlled black honey process and slow, deliberate drying that allows the coffee's natural sweetness and depth to unfold fully. Roasted to a refined medium profile, it reveals a rich, layered cup with remarkable sweetness and a smooth, lingering finish. Overall, the result is a coffee that feels intentional, rare, and truly exceptional.

From Farm to Cup

Handpicked, high-Brix Arabica cherries are selected from Lot 103, Field GT8 within our Kerkeicoondah Estate. They undergo a precise 60-hour partially anaerobic whole-berry fermentation in lined vats, followed by pulping completely without water to protect their sweet mucilage, then a slow sun-drying process — first on raised trays, then carefully raked on the drying yard until reaching a perfect 11% moisture. Once fully dried, the coffee is rested, milled with precision, and meticulously sorted before being roasted in small batches. Each stage — from selective harvesting to isolated processing and careful roasting — reflects an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship, creating a seamless journey from estate to cup.

Kerkeicoondah estate in Chikmagalur is the exclusive source of these exceptional beans. Grown in the shade of diverse wild trees native to the Western Ghats, this coffee benefits from a unique flavour complexity. Located at an elevation of 2,950-3,750 feet, our estate’s intercropping with pepper, areca, and cocoa enhances the distinctive flavour profile of our Arabica and Robusta beans.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations for coffee orders will only be considered if the request is made within 12 hours of placing an order or before the order is roasted, whichever comes first.

Due to the nature of our products and our commitment to delivering them in the best condition, we regret to inform you that orders placed with us are considered non-returnable, even if unopened.

If there was an error with your order, kindly reach out to us within 48 hours of receiving your order.

Returns & Refund Policy: In case of receipt of damaged or defective items please report the same to our Customer Service team. The request will, however, be entertained once the merchant has checked and determined the same at his own end. Quality issues raised after 48 hours of delivery will not be entertained.

In case you feel that the product received is not as shown on the site or as per your expectations, you must bring it to the notice of our customer service within the same day of receiving the product. The Customer Service Team after looking into your complaint will take an appropriate decision.
