Our coffee is cultivated under a canopy of silver oak, red cedar, teak, acacia and coconut trees. Shade trees not only confirm a distinctive flavour to our coffee but also add to its productivity gradient. They are also instrumental in preventing loss of top soil by erosion. Oil enrichment is ensured due to leaf branch and twig mulch of these trees. Microclimates of the soil is maintained to ensure fertility and prevent loss of moisture.
Owing to our geographical locations members of the local community (generation of families) that comprise our workforce are also housed on the estate with the security of employment and access to medical aid, schooling, crèche, social, retirement and other benefits such as company - subsidised general stores.
